About the work
Pink flamingos wade in a dark pool. Green landscapes, flamingos and flowing water are recurring subjects in Henri-Robert Brésil’s work. Here, the contrast gives the eye a place to settle before it wanders further. The gathering holds our attention quietly, allowing a small patch of life to become the centre of a much larger view.
White egrets stand among the waders. Dense forest surrounds them, with fan-shaped palms, bamboo, flowering trees and broad ferns. White birds fly across the top of the canvas.
About the artist
