Lamp Gridap

A covered pot sits among a cup or jar, a pipe and a dried leaf. J.F. Casimir gives these everyday objects a quiet company of their own. The eye moves between their different forms, finding the quiet pleasure of familiar things seen afresh. One shape answers another, making a small arrangement feel worth spending time with.

Straight lines divide the background into flat green, teal, blue and brown panels. The central vessel is grey, its neighbour white; the smoking implement is brown. The signature sits at the lower right.
