About the work
Four square panels hang together, divided by a narrow cross. The gaps give the movement pauses without breaking its flow. Looking across the squares, we find each part holding its place within the whole. Our attention returns to the centre after crossing the joins, following a rhythm that stays connected even where the surfaces are held apart.
Orange, yellow and red streaks burst outwards beneath violet and dark blue spatters. Deep green bands run along the edges. Thick layers of paint carry drips and splashes.
About the artist
Patsye Delatour is a granddaughter of Carmel Delatour, who founded Rainbow Art Display in her home in 1972. Her artwork belongs to visionary art. Each piece is reached through meditation, prayer and calm, channeling positive energies so that creation can flow. The work is vibrant in color and in energy, striking yet calming, and portrays love, light and the connection of all things. Patsye is proudest of being able to connect, to share, to flow and to create honestly, and paints from trust in the process rather than from what might sell. She describes her work as a prayer, a mantra, a vèvè: faith in the unseen leading the way, without compromising integrity or creativity.
